These supplies will help my students get excited about learning and coming to class. I have learned through my experiences teaching that my students are more likely to make an effort in learning when they feel comfortable in class. Flexible seating makes class more fun! My students already struggle in school. Making math/English class a little more enjoyable goes a long way with them. Flexible seating allows my students freedom to choose where they want to work. I like being able to give them choices and options that help them feel more in charge of their learning. They feel comfortable in class, and they are happy to be here. Flexible seating encourages my students to make connections with their peers. The cushions offer places for my students to work on math or to read their books. I am kind of amazed at how much my students enjoy using the few options I currently have in my classroom. The yoga balls, wobble cushions, and bouncy bands will help my students with autism and ADHD who need movement and fidget opportunities to help them focus. The earbuds with microphones are for my English students to use with text-to-speech software when writing essays. I chose these particular headphones because they are unobtrusive and won't draw attention to the student using them. They are also easy to wipe off and keep disinfected. The calculators are to replace materials that have been lost or damaged. We use calculators in class every day. The game buzzers will help gamify learning and turn boring worksheets into more exciting competitions!
