COVID has affected our students in the struggle with letter sounds, word formations, and basic phonological skills needed for reading. We have discovered that the learning loss in our district is catastrophic! The students in our small, rural community struggle with letter sounds, word formations, and basic phonological skills needed for reading. The games and headphones included in this project will help students close those learning gaps in phonological awareness in a fun, hands-on way. The flexible lap desks for my project will give students the option to leave their desks, get those wiggles out, and continue working!
