Covid has increased sensory overload among students. Student anxiety and accompanying behavior patterns have reached all-time highs. We have increased our use of sensory art to help whole classes focus and calm. We are required as part of the Waldorf curriculum to teach students hands-on skills with woodworking, art pigments, and individual and collaborative artistic vision. Because our school is new, we have not yet had the funds to acquire some basic art supplies for these woodworking and art lesson plans. Art allows students to work together, develop creative capacity, and self-soothe. Please help us afford these essential supplies. Students who are able to work together on focused art creation activities do better work throughout the week. They are able to leave behind their anxieties about covid masks, and news about covid trends. Art supplies are difficult for teachers to afford. Please help.
