My Spanish classes have limited materials to learn or to be immersed in the language. These kids are amazing. They started their DLI program in second grade virtually. They didn’t have a first grade level in class, and what they had in second grade was all online! They did their best, but we need to catch up. For that reason, they need Spanish books to read, flashcards to improve their vocabulary, games to add to their fluency, posters to anchor their thinking and stickers for positive reinforcement. The more visuals in the class, like stickers, games, readers, posters, and flashcards, the closer we will be to reaching the level required in the third DLI class.
