Aquaculture is a new class that I am teaching. The last few years students have been disengaged in school. As part of the course we are creating fishing poles and learning about fishing techniques. At the conclusion, I would like to take the students fishing to practice the skills we learned in class. The reels will allow all students to participate in the activity. Many of my students are low income and do not have money to buy a reel to bring a reel on the trip. I would like to have spare reels for students in this situation. I hope that this our field trip helps the students a hobby that allows them to practice well-being, enjoy the outdoors and re-engage in their education.
