Using decodable readers during small group instruction will build a firm phonemic base for reading. Magnetic letters will be used to help kiddos manipulate sounds and blend those sounds to form words. My students will thrive with hands-on materials. Being a good reader is key to feeling good about yourself. Wow - can you imagine having to share earbuds? My kiddos do. Headphones would be an amazing tool especially during high COVID transmission. A classroom library with grade level favorites will encourage students to lose themselves in the wonder of reading.
