I am a firm believer in the fact that a child interested in a book will be motivated to get better at reading. Reading begets more reading! My classroom needs more high-quality book series that will interest students. Second grade is when many students begin reading chapter books, but that will only happen if they are engaged in the story to forgo pictures that aid in their comprehension. In addition, our students are one-to-one with Chromebooks and do a lot of reading using online books and audiobooks. However, they need high-quality headphones that will help them access these online formats. Books and headphones will help students unlock doors to new adventures and deepen their love of reading. Personal headphones will also aid in COVID-19-teaching, as students will not have to share or borrow headphones from each other. Please help my class grow to new heights!
