These materials will help my students learn in light of COVID-19 because there will be plenty of supplies for each student to have their own to work with which can then be sanitized before the next class. Right now, I have limited supplies, so most students have to watch a class demonstration versus hands on learning. I am hoping these supplies will help them see simple machines in action and practice building their own projects. Hands on learning is so important in a first -grade classroom. Any time students can physically touch something while learning about it helps solidify concepts being taught. I want students to be able to see how the hands on a clock move, touch individual coins as they learn to count money, and use ten frames to help assist in addition. We also study the human body. The physical examples will help my visual learners better understand how the human body works. The bookshelf will be used to store the new supplies and provide students' easy access to the materials to enhance their learning.
