Our kids come from a background that limits what they see. Many have never been to downtown Salt Lake, despite it's proximity(15-20 minute drive). They don't know what it's like to go to museum or to the symphony; unless they go as part of a field trip. COVID has taken these precious real-life experiences from my students, but this project can give them one back. They will get to see that writing is more than pages in a library. They will get to see the value of honing their writing. They will get to see that writing well makes you an author. They will get to hold in their hands, writing that they created, that was worth publishing.

About my class
