My students will use the decodable books in small groups to solidify their newly learned reading skills. Letter manipulatives are needed to practice letter names and sounds. We will also practice decoding our new focus skills using letter manipulatives. After practicing the focus skill in small groups, my students will be able to use the manipulatives independently or with a partner. Having multiple chances and multiple ways to practice using hands on learning, my students will be able to develope automaticity. This will increase their phonics skills and confidence in reading.
