The arts are a huge window into the soul. It allows individuals to express thoughts, feelings, ideas and problem solve without many words. In 2020, the first things to disappear off the shelves in stores (other than toilet paper) during the shutdown were art supplies. Children need the creative space in their minds to cope, feel and hopefully express what their bodies and minds are experiencing through these tough times. More than ever, children need this outlet to connect with their feelings Emotional wellness through creating, also facilitates a conduit to problem solving. Discovering, manipulating, enhancing and building, allows children to make connections and understand ways to achieve their goals. With these supplies, I hope to enhance my students' abilities to open up their minds to new and fresh ways to create. Best part, we learn and grow together during the process.
