Communicating has always been a challenge for my students, but since the pandemic, it has become even more problematic. Isolation does not promote interaction and communication. I plan to use these materials to engage students in communication and get them interacting! Most of the materials that I have chosen are hands-on and manipulative. They promote communication and can be used for a wide variety of goals. I have also chosen some books and workbooks to help me work with students. Engaging students in communication can be difficult for some children. Having new materials that they have never seen before can be exactly what they need to jump to the next level in meeting their IEP goals. Children get excited with new pictures, new toys, or a new game. Motivation is high! These materials will be used to address students' individual goals and help them access their curriculum which usually targets grammar, vocabulary, clear speech, and social skills.
