Self-expression through art is therapeutic emotionally and creates a safe space to release one's feelings. In my classes this becomes a tool for discussion and a window into each student's well-being. Paint on a canvas becomes a tool for these students to heal and sort out their feelings. They use the iPad to record, create, and share their art online communicating and connecting to others who may feel isolated with similar feelings. This project helps lift not only my students, but shows them how they can lift others along their own personal journey.
