I teach Digital Media and photography at a very rural high school. The headsets we use now have only one side of the headphones working and many of the microphones don't work or record with horrible sound. In order for the students to learn technology to prepare them to go out into the world to find great jobs, they need to have the hands on learning skills in school. By providing with working equipment they will be able to see the way things are supposed to really sound and look instead of trying to imagine what the final output should look like.
