The majority of the materials I am requesting funding for are books that use themes and incorporate sounds that are often goals for my students working to improve their language and communication skills. Literacy-based lessons are one of the best ways to help lessons become more concrete for kids as they learn. They remember the concepts better than when using drill-like activities. Other materials that I am hoping to acquire are items that can be incorporated in hands-on learning activities. Both literacy and play-based learning are critical methods to improve language skills.
