With these books, students will have full access to learn about STEM, important people from history, kindness, life lessons, etc. It will give me, as their teacher, the opportunity to create lessons based on those. I have a library, but not one that is near as good as it should be. These first graders deserve a class library that they have full access to and can explore what they want to read about. An important concept in my classroom is to make sure these students are reading things they enjoy because that's what will fuel a lifelong love of reading and learning. These books will give me the resources to teach them life lessons, but they will also give my students the resources to find out what they love and pursue it.
