My students hope to know more about China than just from the text. They are also very interested in Chinese traditional culture and customs. They want to touch Chinese traditions with their own hands. My project has bought many traditional Chinese decorations and items with specific significance for students, such as Spring Festival couplets, lanterns, fans, Chinese chess, etc. students can listen to and see stories related to these items and can decorate our teaching room and their own home with them. They can also tell their parents and siblings the stories about these items at home. This is very helpful for students to maintain their interest in Chinese learning in the special period of covid-19. It is also good for them to further study Chinese in the future.
