My students are in grades 9-12th and attend a small public high school in a rural town in Pennsylvania. The students come from a large range of income levels. Students are eager to learn about different mediums in art and have been requesting to learn about glass making on a consistent basis this year. Glass artist Linda Billet came into the class and spoke to the students about her work. Students were beyond excited. Linda is willing to come in and give of her time for free to teach the students how to create fused glass pieces. The students are eager to learn new skills. The students in my class have selected to be there, and are interested learning more about art and possibly pursuing it in the future. My students are full of energy and brimming with creative ideas. The students are persistent once they have an idea, and will continue to try to determine new ways to approach problems in order to succeed.
