With students working remotely from home and using iPad screens often, they do not have concrete math foundations to help them apply math principles. Math manipulatives will help students cement these concepts and become solid in their math skills. Students have also been adversely affected in their development of social skills. They have not had the practice in this area due to isolation. Reading high-interest, colorful stories will help guide meaningful discussions on growth mindset and other social skills. This will provide a basis for growth mindset and grit as students continue their education.
