During small group intervention time, students will use these materials to help understand basic decoding skills. Manipulating letters helps students make sense of sound-spelling relationships. Also included in this project are decodable readers that will give students experience reading the practiced sound patterns in the context of books. By donating to this project, students will be able to use materials to access learning through manipulatives creating a more meaningful learning experience. Students will transfer the knowledge learned in basic phonics lessons to the page for reading real text with the decodable readers.
