Research has shown that "Early Childhood" is a time when children are active, yet traditional classroom furniture includes chairs and tables for students to sit still and learn in. Flexible seating options, like the Jellyfish chair, have the following benefits: -Engaged body, engaged brain -Satisfies children’s innate need for movement -Increased alertness and attention for kinesthetic learners The specific seats I have chosen will help my Kindergarteners direct their excess energy into staying balanced as their brains absorb the reading, writing, and arithmetic they come to school to learn. These seats will also be available for checkout for at-home learning so children can experience a variety of seating options there too. A fellow Kindergarten teacher has used items like this for her class and says these make a world of a difference for all her students, and for students on the autism spectrum in particular. Thank you for considering the developmentally appropriate seating options for my fidgety students.
