Reading and writing are some of the most important skills a student can learn at school. First graders often struggle to find non fiction books on their own independent level. Non Fiction books are important to have access to and are used to help students in many areas. Informational writing, math problems and Science are just a few of the ways that non fiction books can benefit learning. Non Fiction book sets, based on core content, would be welcomed in my class of active learners. It would enhance their learning and confidence in reading and working with non fiction books.
