The Oculus will help with my Science and Social Studies curriculum. Covid took the opportunity to explore our world from many of us. Things shut down. One thing that we really haven't got back is field trips. This will allow our students to explore the world through Virtual Reality. I teach Volcanoes, Earthquakes, Erosion and Weathering. What a neat experience to be able to get up close and personal with the VR system to see Lava flowing from an erupting volcano or the earth shaking as the plates are colliding. This will give our students the opportunity to explore our world all while staying safe from the dangers of Covid 19. I will also be teaching Math. Math texts help teach math concepts in a fun way. The manipulatives help the students visualize and manipulate fractions to see equivalencies to better understand that they are taking up the same space. It helps to create a concrete way of teaching.
