The students that I teach are often reading below grade level. These books will motivate my struggling students to read the topics that their peers are reading, but geared toward their reading level. Leveled readers can help build vocabulary, background knowledge, and reading fluency. They will also help my students gain an interest and love for reading. Critical thinking skills, creativity, teamwork, and good sportsmanship are a few of the important skills that students develop while playing learning games and exploring math manipulatives. Students in special education classrooms often struggle in the general classroom. I am excited to offer them books on their interest and reading level as well as games and manipulatives to explore and enjoy in my classroom. My ultimate goal is to help students find success and enjoyment that can come through learning!
