Online learning and constant mask wearing during the continued COVID-19 Pandemic created a huge barrier in the development of speech and language skills. Young children were not hearing their peers and parents speak clearly due to masks. Play dates were cancelled, negatively impacting social interaction and communication between friends. School-age children listened to muffled instruction through masks. Above that, students' own speech was impacted as they could not communicate clearly. The books in this project will provide students opportunity to increase impacted speech and language skills by allowing them to practice their newly acquired skills in a variety of ways.
