Most of my students haven't done much individual reading because going to school and community libraries has been limited. My students need as many opportunities as possible to read books that they are interested in and not assigned, and they need access to those books. Some of the books in our class library are old and falling apart while others are outdated. My students could benefit from books that are new, current, and a variety of genres and authors. I also plan on doing book talks with the books to help students get excited about what is available to them.
