"The Crossover" is a creative way to tell as tory that is both a window to experiences unlike their own and a door that shows a shared of experience of being a teenager across racial and social differences. Students will read together, sharing ideas and collaborating on projects that relate to the themes of the book. Receiving the class set of "The Crossover" will provide an opportunity for students to discover literature they love. Finding books, like "The Crossover," that make students want to keep reading encourages lifelong learners. "The Crossover" has positive racial representation something that is currently lacking in my student's choices for class texts.
