This pandemic has created serious issues for my students, all of whom have significant, multiple disabilities. One of the challenges that the pandemic highlighted was the lack of technology and curriculum to support students' communication. Using AAC devices and finding curriculum that captures the specificity of needs my students face is also challenging. My students will use their switches to communicate essential needs and their lightbox to enhance those choices for those that are visually impaired. The switches are an essential piece of technology which enables my students, all of whom are non-verbal, to speak. The lightbox allows my students with visual impairments to better see their options in tangible form to also make choices. Your financial support would be absolutely essential to helping my students recover from the lack of communication the pandemic wrought. Ensuring students have access to communication technology and curriculum will support them immensely. Thank you!
