Learning to develop a love of reading is one of my top priorities as a teacher. If students are given a wide selection of books to read, a good friend to read it with, and a teacher to help them understand, books quickly come to life and a love of reading is sparked. These books will be used not only to foster a love of reading in my students but also to teach the essential comprehension skills they need to succeed. Many of my students don't have any books to read at home and this will give me the flexibility of having the sets in my class and I can allow them to take them home when needed.
