My project focuses on bringing the arts into the classroom. I want to have my students opportunities to learn in different ways. Many of my students are hands on students. The supplies I have requested will have my students the opportunity to engage in projects such as planting seeds, beading, 3-D sculpting, and origami. Many of these projects will tie in to learning in core subjects. In my school I serve as a coordinator for arts. The clay on the list will be a shared supply between all of the elementary classrooms giving us the opportunity to dive into sculpting. The arts are the focus of this project but the supplies will also support mindfulness in the classroom. Many of the projects will tie in to cross curricular learning to support literacy and math. One good example of this is the beading project which will help students with their plotting and graphing skills for math.
