Creating a safe space that will encourage students to read will increase their love for reading thus strengthening their reading and decoding skills. These are abilities and skills used in every subject. Having high-interest books and magazines will encourage their desire to read, discuss with their peers, and write about their ideas. Having a fun and inviting corner in our classroom will encourage them to focus on the tasks at hand so that they can use their free time in a comfortable and safe space. Knowing that they have a place that is quiet, a place for them to decompress, will let them know that our classroom is a safe place to let their minds grow.
