As a Title 1 Dual Immersion early elementary classroom, a majority of our focus is on literacy. I also want my students to have the opportunity for hands on stem activities. Stem exploration fosters ingenuity and creativity, builds resilience, encourages exploration, promotes teamwork, provides knowledge application, utilizes technology, teaches problem solving, and leads to adaptation. Many of my students do not have access to these materials at home. Our classroom is our home away from home, and I want them to have the access. I can see first hand that my students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a choice of exploration.

About my class
