At Gorycki Middle School, students engaged in learning more about their brains and how being well-regulated can help them achieve academically. A Brain Lab will provide our students with a space where they can identify how they are feeling and better understand how this impacts brain functioning. They then can choose related activities that help them become rgulated, and in a better place to learn. Depending on the student's needs, they may regulate through calming activities like breathing or more focused attention activities including journaling. The Mobile Brain Lab will be available for counselors and teachers to use in classroom lessons on the brain and regulation.
