The students have been learning to set goals to help them stay motivated while learning online due to Covid, wearing masks that tend to hold students back from engaging in discussions, and progressing at their own pace of learning. Having incentives like certificates and a treat awarded to them has been a great help! Rewarding the achievement of personal goals gives students a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment. They love it! It has been hard socially, emotionally and academically on students during the pandemic, but as we reach goals together and celebrate together, the students smile together and gain an understanding of content. They bond as teams and groups that achieve success as they figure out how to work together online and in the classroom.
