This project will help my students learn in multiple different ways. The incubator that hatches the eggs will be used to teach science and math. We will observe the chicks hatching and see what they look like every week. We will use addition and subtraction as our chicks hatch. After 21 days, our chicks will hatch! We will the use the brooder, which keeps the chicks nice and warm, when all of our chicks hatch to house them. This will allow for easy observations, cleanings, and handling. We will continue to watch them grow and continue to make observations on how they are growing and functioning. The bedding is essential to their leg growth and starter feed will be used to provide them with the necessary nutrients after the chicks have hatched. This will allow them to live and grow healthily. The shallow food and water dishes allow the chicks to safely eat and get all of the nutrients that they need to grow and be healthy. We will use all of these materials to watch the chickens grow! This Project Based Learning opportunity is a fun, exciting and hands on way to learn about the life cycle of the chickens! This is a learning experience that our students will never forget!
