The materials requested will help my students learning at home and learning in school see their work in a new way. Being able to print, display, and present their work is closely tied to the Utah Standards. I also believe the last couple of years, we have all been tied to our computers screens. Staring at our screens can be draining and hard. Being able to print a physical image creates a whole new experience for students. In addition to that, I believe being able to print and hang up their artwork, for their peers, friends, and teachers to see, increases motivation and engagement within the classroom. I believe that students will be beaming while they are looking at their newly printed image. Seeing it displayed in the hallways, or on the schools social media account, or even being able to bring it home and hang in their house will help students feel joy. This is something our students desperately need right now. A moment for them to feel proud, excited, and have something tangible. Printing artwork is part of the foundations of photography. It helps us see different aspects of our work. It also lets more people view it within the building. I believe this will impact their social-emotional learning in addition to their academic learning.
