Whiteboards will be a valuable tool in the classroom. It expands student engagement and allows students to participate verbally and non-verbally. These whiteboards will be used in math. Students will use it as a workspace while helping to keep their notebooks organized. These whiteboards will allow me to quickly assess student understanding during a math lesson. These are tools for success. Highlighters are essential for students in reading. They are used as an annotation tool, allowing students to highlight important information in the reading and help them keep track of important details they would like to use in their writing. Earphones are vital to my classroom this year. My 5th grade students work on the laptop for half the school day. Students spend time working on personalized instructional activities in the classroom. Headphones will allow them to work without the distraction of their classmates.
