My goal is for the kindergarten superheroes to make a model of the solar system showing off all they have learned. Today I introduced them to the solar system. They had great questions like "What color are the planets?" and "How many Earths fit inside the Sun?" Each day I will teach them about one body in the solar system so at the end of the study they can replicate it. After learning about facts about the sun, each planet, and the asteroid belt, I will make a packet of their finished work. They will color the boards black. They will color the styrofoam balls according to the colors of each planet. (Primary colors will be used the most.) They will glue the planets in order. They will use rocks for the asteroid belt to divide the inner planets from the outer planets. The boards will be displayed around the classroom and next to the bulletin board outside the classroom. Students will be able to take it home after a week and share their knowledge of the solar system. By donating to this project you will help lay the foundation of scientific mastery at the kindergarten level!
