My students come from a small, rural area which has, so far, been fairly limited in the variety of ways that are available to make a living. One of the classes in our small school curriculum is a college and career awareness class. My goal for this class is to expand each student's vision to encompass the multitude of career opportunities available to them, with a special emphasis on computer science and coding. The understanding of computer science principles and coding is becoming essential in a growing number of careers, and my passion is to introduce these to our students before these students begin their journey on their career pathway. These requested materials will enable an introduction to robotics and coding that will provide an exciting, fun, hands-on way to bring this about.
