Kindergarteners are young, ages 5-6, and sitting at a table all day is difficult for them. Flexible seating offers them options to pick what is more comfortable for them. Whether it's laying on a rug, sitting crisscross with the surf desk, or sitting on the stools to be able to swing their feet. Giving them options teaches them independence and offers them comfort. The rug, surf desks, and stools will give the children options in the classroom to help with the wiggle worms or just being uncomfortable. It teaches them that they always have a choice.
