Much like my students are each unique, they each have unique learning styles. I have learned that a typical desk is not how most students want to learn. My classroom lessons include a variety of instruction that is often collaborative, and my students deserve the equipment to work together effectively. This means I need desks and seats that are easily moved into different configurations based on the requirements of the assignment. While I hope to acquire tables from my school, that's about as flexible as it gets. I believe in having a variety of seating available that students can choose from, so they can learn best. Students know what they need to be successful, and alternative seating is one of those necessary elements of a classroom.
