Dramatic play is an essential component to developing social-emotional skills. My 23 students will take turns using the "Culinary Corner" during center time to engage in play with their peers. In this center students develop their math skills by counting fruits and vegetables, learn to conversate with peers, build vocabulary and learn problem solving. Our current kitchen/kitchen supplies are extremely worn, old and broken. After a rough year and a half at home, I want to be able to provide my students with an area that they can learn to problem-solve, engage in conversation and pretend to be who they want to be without judgement. These early learning opportunities provide each child with more success and a positive relationship with school. I cannot wait to see my students enjoying their new center!
