Students will pretend to be carnival workers searching for the most efficient and quickest way to pop kettle popcorn. Students will participate in a mini-lab where they will have to identify the type of heat transfer that is occurring at each mini-lab station (Conduction, Convection, Radiation). Our students learn best when they are having fun, able to use their hands, and discover different concepts. Students will have to evaluate the effectiveness of each type of heat transfer in popping the maximum amount of popcorn, in the least amount of time, to yield the most amount of money.
