I believe the items I selected for my project will help my students to grow emotionally and academically. As a second year teacher, I could use all the extra help and resources I can. These items will help my students learn math and science through hands-on experiences, play and through books. As I used the standards as a guided, I was able to find things for science. Using the heat press, silicone mold and the portable kettle will help in hands-on activities to experiment what happens to matter through heating and cooling process. We will also use the books about habitats for animal science. For math we will use the clocks. Both the analog class set and the digital one. This is part of our math unit standards. Social-emotional learning is a big part of our classroom. I selected books for engaging with the students. I will use the books for both academic lessons and character ED lessons. The fidget toys, buzzers, shut the box, Qbits, and taco vs burrito will also be used for both academic and social use as well. I love being about to combined the two as we learn through play. All the organizational stuff would be to help our classroom stay organized and help the students feel successful. I choose zipper pouches, erasers, and expo markers for the students to have kits that are easily grabbed and ready to go. I choose the 3 tier cart, 10 drawer storage and the magnetic pencil holder to make our classroom organized, flow better and so everything has a place. The stools are for the back table, so the students have something there when coming back for reading groups. They are easy to clean, stack or slide under the table.
