Help my students learn about lifelong fitness through these fun backyard games, by giving them a field day that they will never forget. Water balloons will be used for a water balloon toss game, while cornhole, spike ball, toss across, and Kan Jam will be used in different stations (adapted to the needs of each student) where students can earn points for their class by participating in these activities. The large Jenga will be used in a station where one class can play against another class getting points for the winning team that does not knock it over. At the end of the day, every student will get a ribbon for participating in Field Day. With these new activities, students will learn the importance of lifelong fitness through games that they can play at any age! These activities WILL NOT be used for only one day a year. Throughout the school year, students will be using these activities in different lessons learning the skills they need to play them such as an underhand toss, throwing and catching a frisbee, catching a ball, striking a ball, hand-eye coordination, strategic thinking, and manual dexterity.
