Reading time on a new colorful carpet will help the students hopefully have a better day. Many come in from a long bus ride and have stored up energy trying to burst out; we ask them to sit on an aging mat and listen while reading. The colors and pattern will help visually stimulate my littles who have a problem sitting still and allow everyone to benefit from storytime. I also asked for snacks to help tide my kids over who have to wait for the bus to take them home.
