I will use these books to enhance the choices available for Reader's workshop and independent reading. This unit will foster the love of reading among my students. So often my students tell me "I don't read." What that really means is 'nothing in here interests me'. My students want to read about characters that look and act like them so I am striving to meet their interests with this selection. "I love this book!" This statement is what I hope to hear once my library becomes more populated. Since the book list was created with my students, I am certain that the circulation of books will increase.
