Our school hasn't had a school counselor in a very long time. I have started doing classroom visits for all grades. These books would benefit pre-k, kindergarten, and 1st grade. I will use each book as an anchor for a lesson addressing various social emotional skills our students seem to lack such as dealing with anxiety, understanding it's okay to make mistakes, and learning how to be a good citizen in the classroom. Many of our younger students have never had a normal year of school because of COVID and are lacking the appropriate understanding of how school works. These books will help me teach them how to be good students and set them on the path to being good people.
