I hope to use these materials such as the sensory pathways, fluorescent light covers, hand fidgets, bouncy bands and bean bag chair, to set up spaces in the classrooms where students can take a break when they are feeling overwhelmed, or need an outlet to move their bodies without leaving the classroom. I will laminate visual choice boards for teachers to use with students so that they can easily learn to use these simple tools to regulate their brain and body chemistry every day. In addition, I will use the handwriting tools such as graph paper and the legiliners with students who have a hard time organizing their letters and words on paper so that their teachers can read what they seek to express through writing These tools will empower my students to become more independent with regulating their bodies and emotions so that ultimately teachers can spend more time on teaching and less time on classroom management.
