Kids are active, am I right? I teach math in two classes, we are departmentalized in fifth grade. That means each class is in the same desk for 90 minutes. That can be a long time to be in one place. Bodies start to wiggle and turn causing distractions because the standard chair isn't made for wiggling or leaning back. I've had kids fall out of their chairs or even try to stand just to have a different position. Let's be honest, 90 minutes of math in the same chair can be too much for anyone. My wish is to get some flexibility, literally, in their class seating. This will allow them to be at a seat and have some movement. What a difference that would make. It also allows them to change up their learning area with something less traditional. The Wobble Stools will be an effective way to move without distracting others or getting hurt. The Surf Portable Lap Desk will allow kids to temporarily sit closer to the active board, while still leaving our carpet area for others to enjoy. I wish everyone had the ability to see what I see everyday with these amazing kiddos. They are working so hard and doing amazing things every day. I feel this seating would create an amazing learning environment for everyone. Thank you for your consideration.
